Terms of Sale

Separate terms for website orders and counter / branch orders. Last updated September 2026.

These terms apply to sales by Boss Building Plastics LTD (company number 13529923, VAT number 386882042) of The Barn, 30 Acres Farm, Hall Lane, Mawdesley, Ormskirk L40 2QY. Branches also trade from Unit 7, Acorn Court, Butts Street, Leigh WN7 3DD.

Website orders are covered by Part A. Orders placed in person at Mawdesley or Leigh (including telephone orders taken by the branch) are covered by Part B. Payment details, title, liability and law in Part C apply to both.

By placing an order you agree to these terms. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Part A — Website orders

Applies to orders placed on bossbuildingplastics.com (and the Odoo shop).

A1. Ordering

Prices on the website are an invitation to treat, not a binding offer. Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send an order confirmation or when we dispatch or make the goods ready for collection. We may refuse or cancel an order if a product is priced in error, is out of stock, is a special-order line we cannot fulfil, or if payment fails.

You must give a complete delivery or collection address and a contact number. Trade prices apply only to approved trade accounts once you are logged in.

A2. Prices and VAT

Prices may be shown excluding or including VAT using the toggle on the site. VAT is charged at the rate in force on the invoice date. Website prices are not a quote for a counter sale and may differ from branch prices.

A3. Payment (website)

Website orders must be paid at checkout unless you have an agreed credit account and we have enabled account checkout for you. We take payment by the methods offered at checkout. Orders are not processed until payment is received or the account sale is confirmed.

Bank details for BACS / account payment are in Part C.

A4. Delivery and collection (website)

Available methods depend on the goods in the basket (for example long fascia, gutter, timber and sheets cannot go by small-parcel courier). Options, North West next-day cover, free North West delivery threshold and pallet charges are described on our Delivery page. Dates are estimates, not guarantees.

You may collect from Mawdesley (Ormskirk) or Leigh where the method is offered at checkout. Risk in the goods passes when we deliver to the address you gave, or when you collect.

A5. Checking the order

Please inspect goods on arrival or collection. Shortages, damage in transit or incorrect items must be reported to us in writing within 48 hours, with photographs where possible, so we can claim against the carrier.

A6. Returns (website)

Returns must be requested within 30 days of delivery or collection and must be supported by a valid receipt or order number.

• Contact us first. Unauthorised returns may be refused.
• A restocking fee applies to all returns (website and trade), except where the goods are faulty or we supplied the wrong item.
• Special-order items are non-returnable (see A7).
• Change-of-mind returns must be sent back to our Mawdesley address at your expense, unused, in original packaging and in a resaleable condition. Risk stays with you until the goods reach us.

Faulty goods, or items we sent in error, should not be posted back until we have told you what to do. See also our Returns Policy.

A7. Special orders and made-to-measure (website)

Cut lengths, tinted or sprayed items, roof lanterns, bifolds, sliders, configurator quotes and any line ordered in specially for you cannot be cancelled or returned once we have placed the purchase or manufacture has started, except where the goods are faulty or not as described.

Part B — Counter and branch orders

Applies to sales at Mawdesley and Leigh, including goods picked up from the yard and telephone orders taken by the branch.

B1. Ordering at the counter

A sale is made when we take payment or raise a sales order / invoice in the branch. Prices shown in the warehouse, on a quote ticket or on the till are the prices for that sale. Website prices do not automatically apply at the counter.

It is your responsibility to check quantities, colours, sizes and suitability before you leave. We can advise, but we do not design the job for you unless we have agreed that in writing.

B2. Payment (counter)

Counter sales are payable before or at the time of collection, unless you have an approved credit account with us. We accept the payment methods offered in branch (card, cash where stated, and BACS to the account in Part C). Credit accounts are payable to our stated terms; we may withhold further supply if the account is overdue.

B3. Collection and vehicles

Goods are supplied ex works from the branch that fulfilled the order. You (or your carrier) must provide a suitable vehicle. We may refuse to load if the vehicle is unsafe or too small. Risk passes when the goods are loaded onto your vehicle or handed over at the counter.

If we later deliver a counter order for you, delivery is a separate service and the charges and conditions on our Delivery page apply.

B4. Returns (counter)

Returns must be made within 30 days of the sale and must be supported by a valid till receipt, invoice or collection note.

• Bring the goods back to the branch that supplied them (or as we direct).
• A restocking fee applies to all returns, except where the goods are faulty or we supplied the wrong item.
• Special-order items are non-returnable.
• Goods must be unused, in original packaging and in a resaleable condition. Cut, fitted, weathered or part-used goods will not be credited.

B5. Special orders (counter)

Lines we order in, cut, spray, tint or make to your size are non-returnable and non-cancellable once we have placed the purchase, except where they are faulty or not as described. A deposit may be required before we order.

Part C — Payment details, title and general

These clauses apply to website and counter sales.

C1. Bank details

Use your order number or account number as the payment reference. Goods remain our property until we have received cleared funds in full (including any delivery charge and VAT).

C2. Title and risk

Title in the goods remains with Boss Building Plastics LTD until payment is received in full. Risk passes on delivery or collection as set out in Part A or B. If you do not pay we may recover the goods.

C3. Quality and description

Images and descriptions are a guide. Colour and finish can vary between batches and screens. Always check a physical sample where colour match matters. Installation must follow the manufacturer’s instructions and relevant British Standards.

C4. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. For trade customers our liability for any claim is limited to the price paid for the goods concerned. We are not liable for loss of profit, delay to your programme, or other indirect loss.

C5. Loyalty points

Account holders may collect BBP Rewards points on qualifying orders. Points have no cash value. See BBP Rewards and the rewards terms.

C6. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
